Programs & Events
HSSC provides programs and sponsors events that promote the spirit and culture of the village of Cotuit.
Our popular lecture series is held on the third Thursday of every month on themes of historical and cultural interest to the community of Cotuit as well as Cape Cod. All are welcome to attend!
Each year HSSC awards a scholarship to a Barnstable student for assistance in their college journey. Criteria for the Ken Ballou Memorial Scholarship include residency in Cotuit or the Town of Barnstable, excellent academic credentials, an interest in history, and a strong sense of community spirit.
Historical Plaque Program
Established in 2009, the Historic Plaque Program displays plaques on Cotuit's oldest homes. Houses built prior to 1900, viewable from the street, and that have not been drastically remodeled are eligible for a historic plaque.
HSSC is a wonderful place to learn about life in 19th century coastal Cape Cod. If you are a teacher and would like to bring your class for a tour, please call our office at 508.428.0461 or send us email by clicking below.
