HSSC Scholarship Program
Each year HSSC awards a scholarship to a Barnstable student for assistance in their college journey. Criteria for the Ken Ballou Memorial Scholarship include residency in Cotuit or the Town of Barnstable, excellent academic credentials, an interest in history, and a strong sense of community spirit.
Open Hearth Cooking
Learn techniques and tips on cooking over an open hearth. Demonstration/Workshop during the Autumn in Cotuit Fall Festival, October 10.
Historical Plaque Program
Established in 2009, the Historic Plaque Program displays plaques on Cotuit's oldest homes. Houses built prior to 1900, viewable from the street, and that have not been drastically remodeled are eligible for a historic plaque.
Historical Walking Tours
Come explore Cotuits nooks and crannies through Cotuit Center this summer. This one mile walk will take you past 40 historic homes. Leader Tom Burgess will share anecdotes on Cotuit's many historic properties.
Historical Book Club
Everyone is welcome to join the always interesting discussions at the Historical Book Club, which meets on the first Thursday of every month at the Cotuit Library at 7 pm.

6-8PM Dottridge Homestead HSSC Annual Meeting. will take place after our July Board meeting, under the tent. Members and their guests are welcome. Taste of Cotuit

History Uncorked!
Can't visit us on a weekend?
Come on a Thursday night! SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Usually held on the second Thursday of the month throughout the Summer, History Uncorked is a fun and casual evening of friendship and community, celebrated with a glass of wine. Fall Festival

11 AM to 3PM Dottridge Homestead. Our annual fall festival will be held the on Columbus Day Weekend. Featuring homemade pies, chili and more! Holidays at the Homestead
Christmas in Cotuit, the first weekend in December is a BUSY one at HSSC!
Children come back year after year to make a Christmas ornament at the Children's Craft Session, the Gift Shop is busy, and Holiday Party is held in the beautifully decorated Homestead on Saturday night for all our supporters. |
